Do you know how hard it is to run a city?
I was the mayor of Central City, and I did a damned good job with it. In my tenure as mayor of Central City, crime dropped 15%. You might look at that number and ask why I didn’t reduce crime to 0%, but I would say that you take a town as corrupt as Central City, and you make crime drop 15% and you are practically a god.
So yeah, I take pride in what I do.
But the Colony…..the colony isn’t so easy to run.
First of all, there’s no police officers. At least not yet. I don’t know if any cops even made it out of Central City. Honestly, I don’t even know how I made it out alive. By all accounts, I should be dead. But I’m not, and I’m trying to pay it forward.
Second, there’s just me in charge. Usually there would be some sort of checks and balances system, but when the entire world goes to shit, so do laws and regulations. In Central City, what I say, goes. Oh, I don’t have police officers, but there are people who look to me for guidance. There are people who look to me for answers, and those are the same people who would stand up for me.
Third, there’s no alternative to the Colony. You go outside, you die. There is no other alternative. You go outside….you die….or worse.
