Backstory:
"Step right up ladies and Gentlmen and behold! The eighth wonder of the world" That was the tag-line. It would get them interested. What could the eighth wonder of the world be? This was a circus. And of course after seeing Bertha the Bearded Blushing Bride, Madams Moffit and Maude the conjoined tarot readers, and Eunice, the worlds smallest Elephant, well they were primed for a show, for wonder, for... excitement.
They never left happy ya know?
That's never been me. That's never been what I bring. They take a look at me and they see a freak, but not like Bertha, not like the twins, not like Eunie. All I ever got was fear. Like I put it outta me. Like its pumping out into the air around me. As soon as the curtain moved, so too would their faces fall. Was it because i didn't have a nose? Was it my stature? The broad, unbelieveably most would think til they saw me, shoulders, layden with muscle? Perhaps it was my fingernails, which from a very early age had only known one texture: razor sharp.
No. They're never looking at any of these things when they look at me. They're staring right into my pitch-black shark-like eyes.
Maybe that's why even when the world went to shit... They all still looked at me like I was the danger.
